Performing is in the blood! Proud Gary Barlow watches his daughter Emily, nine, play a munchkin in the Wizard Of Oz
Arriving at the London Palladium for Wizard Of Oz star Michael Crawford's 70th birthday celebrations last night, many could be forgiven for wondering what Gary Barlow's connection was to the West End star.
But it turns out the X Factor judge's nine-year-old daughter Emily is one of the castmembers of the hit musical.
The cute little blonde plays a munchkin called Jan alongside Crawford's Wizard and Danielle Hope's Dorothy in the production.
So when Barlow found out there was a special performance of the show to mark Crawford's 70th, he was keen to join in the fun.
At the curtain call, Crawford was thrilled when he was presented with a yellow brick road birthday cake and was treated to a rendition of happy birthday by the cast and audience.
Afterwards, Barlow and Crawford's family join the cast backstage for a party.
Supporting the birthday 'boy' was his daughter Lucy and agent, who watched the show from a box.
Crawford's daughter Lucy now lives in Australia and had flown to England specially to surprise his dad on his landmark birthday.
Last year, Barlow revealed his daughter had auditioned for a role in the Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber production, but was waiting to hear if she got the part.
He told the Telegraph: 'She wants to be a Munchkin. She came with her grandmother.'
Barlow also has another daughter Daisy, three, and a son Daniel, 11, with wife Dawn.
