UK music-licensing company PPL has announced the most popular Manchester songs of the 21st century so far - and the top three are by Take That.
The company examined data based on the music played in TV, radio and online broadcasts, as well as songs played in public (gyms, pubs, shops, for example) to find the most popular tracks by Manchester artists.
Gary Barlow's band's tracks 'Shine', 'Rule The World' and 'Patience' took the top three spots - and Take That's tunes represented 25 per cent of the Top 20 songs by Manchester artists.
Also featured in the top 20 were Oasis, the Bee Gees and Simply Red, although there was no place for celebrated Manchester bands such as [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien], [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien] or [Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir ce lien], although the latter's frontman Ian Brown scored two entries with solo tracks 'F.E.A.R.' and 'Golden Gaze'.
